As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) the House of Hope participates in following the Scripture readings of the Revised Common Lectionary each Sunday in worship.  The Revised Common Lectionary is a three year cycle of Scripture lessons that Biblical scholars representing the participating denominations have appointed to guide congregations through the major themes of Scripture.  Of these four weekly Scripture selections, generally two from the Old Testament and two from the New Testament, the House of Hope clergy select two to use as the focus of our worship service ( except on communion and baptism Sundays, on which only one selection is  used).  You may find it helpful to familiarize yourself with the Scriptural themes for weekly worship by reading these Scripture lessons ahead of time.  To do so, please click here for a listing of them.
