For this year’s Wednesdays in Lent series, we’re highlighting people, organizations, and initiatives that embody the legacy of Fred Rogers, a leading figure in the revolution of children’s (and adults’) learning and engagement in community. Come learn how our commitment to being a Matthew 25 congregation, our connections with local community organizations, and the individuals who bring this work life can help us live into the legacy of Fred Rogers, creating neighborhoods where everyone can flourish. We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say “It’s not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.” Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes. — Fred Rogers |
