November 16 @ 11:15 am12:00 pm

Sign up to attend and donate here

The House of Hope Stewardship Committee and Rev. Dr. E. Scott Jones are excited to present Dr. Kathryn Tanner.
One of the leading theological voices on how our Christian faith should shape our understanding of money, finance, and work will be speaking to us during our Stewardship Sunday luncheon on November 16. Kathryn Tanner is the Frederick Marquand Professor of Divinity and Professor of Religious Studies at Yale University where her research relates the history of Christian thought to contemporary issues of theological concern using social, cultural, and feminist theory. She is the author of a number of books, including the excellent Christianity and the New Spirit of Capitalism, which discusses the moral, social, and theological concerns with present-day finance-dominated capitalism and how Christian theology offers better alternatives. Senior Pastor Scott Jones invited Dr. Tanner to help us ground conversation about HOH’s finances in our theological commitments.
A light lunch will be provided. Donations are appreciated to help us offset expenses. The suggested donation is $20 per adult, or donate what you’re able.
