Sunday-Weekday Connections is a gathering of women during the program year to share a meal and listen to a guest speaker. It brings together women of the congregation for fellowship and a light supper.

Mercedes Sheldon started teaching Sunday school in 8th grade and serving communion in 9th; by age 23, within a few months of joining House of Hope, someone else had nominated her to the Board of Deacons. In the 20 years since then, her path as a member of the congregation and as a teacher has twisted and turned quite a lot; currently, she is the Deputy Clerk of Session and a PhD candidate in English literature at the University of Minnesota.
