Leadership & Governance

Shared leadership, faithful service, and responsible stewardship.

WHO WE ARE →

Session

The Session is a group of elders elected by the congregation to make policy, receive members, assign benevolence gifts, direct worship and the sacraments, and oversee church business.

Board of Trustees

Trustees are elected to oversee church properties, assist in raising funds during the annual campaign, supervise the operating budget and investment portfolio, and review church administration. The board is responsible to Session.

Board of Deacons

Deacons are elected to serve the needs of the congregation and community. Their work includes care of members, ushering, welcoming classes, church service, and community programs. The board is responsible to Session.

Part of the wider church

House of Hope belongs to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area, and the Synod of Lakes and Prairies. These bodies connect our congregation with the ministry of the wider church.

The presbytery oversees matters including the ordination and installation of ministers and congregational formation. The synod supports regional ministry. The General Assembly is the national governing body.
