The Anchor Society recognizes individuals and families who have made a commitment to House of Hope through a planned gift—most often by naming the church in their will or estate plans.
The anchor is a symbol of hope, stability, and trust in God’s promises. As an Anchor Society member, your faith becomes an anchor for the church’s future.
Membership is not about the size of a gift. It is about the intention to support House of Hope’s mission beyond your lifetime.

“They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither.”
Psalm 1:3
A tree can gently guide our understanding of planned giving.
Roots represent quiet, faithful commitments shaped by love and trust in God’s future.
The trunk speaks of continuity, holding together generations of care and witness.
Branches reach outward, carrying hope into a future we may never fully see.
Leaves remind us of grace made visible—offering shelter, beauty, and renewal.
In this way, a planned gift becomes a living expression of faith, continuing to bless others for years to come.
Planned gifts are a powerful way to express gratitude for the role House of Hope has played in your life—and to shape its future ministry.
Sustain vibrant worship and spiritual formation.
Support outreach and justice ministries in Saint Paul and beyond.
Preserve our historic campus as a welcoming place for all.
Ensure that future generations find a spiritual home here.
Your legacy gift becomes an enduring expression of your faith.
“Including House of Hope in my will felt like a natural next step in gratitude.
House of Hope has shaped my faith for decades. It’s where my children were baptized, where I found strength during difficult seasons, and where I’ve seen our community cared for with compassion and courage.
My hope is that long after I’m gone, this congregation will still be proclaiming hope, serving generously, and forming new generations in faith.”
Joining the Anchor Society can be simple. You may:
A bequest can be for a specific amount, percentage of your estate, or the remainder after other provisions have been fulfilled.
Retirement accounts, certain financial accounts, trusts, and life insurance policies may allow you to name House of Hope as a beneficiary.
A percentage-based gift can remain proportional even as the value of your estate changes.
Many planned gifts cost nothing today and can be revised if your circumstances change.
Planned giving allows you to care for loved ones while also investing in what matters most to you.
It is a thoughtful, prayerful way to align your faith and your resources— ensuring that the ministries you cherish will continue to bless others.
Your gift tells a story of gratitude, commitment, and hope.
As a member of the Anchor Society, you will be:
The Endowment Fund helps ensure the ongoing stability of the church and its ministries. Individuals who believe in the mission of House of Hope may contribute through an estate plan or a direct gift.
Endowment gifts help support worship, music, education, community and mission outreach, youth development, care for members in need, and property improvements.
Possible gifts include cash, a bequest in your will, stocks and bonds, trusts, annuities, life insurance, real estate, personal property, and retirement-account assets.
Gifts of all sizes are important. The best gift is one that fits your personal circumstances.
House of Hope draws up to 4.5% of the value of the Endowment Fund annually to support programs and ministries. Please contact us before creating a restricted gift so we can ensure that your intentions can be honored over time.
The Board of Trustees oversees management and investment of the Endowment Fund and, with the Session, determines the distribution of funds.
We encourage you to seek advice from your attorney, accountant, or other financial advisor before making a planned gift. We would also be glad to speak confidentially with you about your intentions.
Gifts to The House of Hope Presbyterian Church are tax-deductible as provided by law. Please consult your professional advisor regarding your individual circumstances.
No—but notifying House of Hope allows us to thank you, welcome you into the Anchor Society, and better understand your wishes.
If you have already included House of Hope in your estate plans, we would be grateful for the opportunity to thank you and welcome you into the Anchor Society.
If you are considering a planned gift and would like to learn more, we invite a confidential conversation—no obligation, simply an opportunity to explore what might be meaningful for you.
