Prior to the renovation and expansion of the sanctuary chancel in the late 1950's, the chapel was a small, simple Gothic structure, located immediately behind the chancel. In 1959, with a generous gift from a House of Hope family, the chapel was enlarged to approximately twice its original size and moved to a location east of the sanctuary. In 2001, in honor of the 150th anniversary of the church, a new organ was commissioned for the Elizabeth Chapel, and was designed and built by Dan Jaeckel of the Jaeckel Organ Company, Duluth, Minnesota. The Elizabeth Chapel now accommodates about 80 people, and is used for smaller worship services, funeral and memorial services, and weddings.
