What is Prior Crossing?
Prior Crossing is a 44-unit housing development for youth who have experienced homelessness in Saint Paul and Ramsey County developed by Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative with The House of Hope Presbyterian Church. The Amherst H. Wilder Foundation will provide services for the young residents.

How is Prior Crossing funded?
The Houses of Hope Fund contributed $500,000 to begin the effort to build Prior Crossing. Subsequently, Beacon received commitments from the Met Council for over $925,000, the City of St Paul for $1.1 million dollars plus a package of tax credits and funding from the State of Minnesota for approximately $7.8 million dollars. We have also secured 32 Section 8 project vouchers from the City of St Paul Public Housing Agency to help with operating costs when the building is in service. In addition, each year we must raise about $500,000 from private and public sources to provide services to the youth.
What can members of House of Hope do now?
Help us stock Hope’s Closet at Prior Crossing!
We are collecting cooking and dining items, linens and the little things that make a home livable and functional. We hope to have a fully stocked closet by September 15. Please use our Sign-Up Genius to see what we need and let us know what you will be donating or stop by the table outside the Kirk Parlor after worship to get a list of items needed and for more information. You’ll find our Sign-up Genius here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f4faead2faaf58-stocking
