Press ReleaseThe House of Hope Presbyterian Church CHRISTMAS AT THE HOUSE OF HOPE St. Paul, MN. . . December 9, 2002. . . On Sunday, December 22, 2002, the House of Hope Choir School and Motet Choir will present a Service of Lessons and Carols at both the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. worship services. In between worship services at 10:00 a.m. there is a Christmas carol sing-along in the Assembly Room. Christmas Eve services begin with a carillon concert by House of Hope carillonneur David Johnson at 3:30 p.m. The afternoon Christmas service for all ages will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Great Room in the east wing of the building. Childcare is provided for children under 3. At 5:30 p.m., the traditional Tableaux Service will take place in the sanctuary. The Christmas story, as told in Scripture, using familiar carols and tableaux adaptations of well-known paintings and scenes of the Nativity is presented in the main sanctuary. Childcare is provided for children under 6. Evening worship begins with a 9:30 carillon concert by House of Hope carillonneur David Johnson, followed by an organ recital of seasonal music by Nancy Lancaster, House of Hope organist. Both can be enjoyed in the main sanctuary. At 11:00 p.m., the festive Christmas Eve worship service features a presentation of J. S. Bach’s Christmas Cantata, Christen, aztet diesen Tag, BWV 63, and the Sanctus in C Major, BWV 237, with the Motet Choir and Soloists, and the Bach Chamber Players of St. Paul. Rev. Linda Loving will preach at the 11:00 p.m. worship service There is only one worship service on Sunday, December 29, at 10:00 a.m. in the main sanctuary. The regular schedule of two services at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. resumes on January 5, 2003. The House of Hope Presbyterian Church is located at 797 Summit Avenue at Avon Street in St. Paul.
