SPECIAL LENTEN WORSHIP AND PROGRAMMING St. Paul, MN . . . February 19, 2002 . . . Each Wednesday evening during Lent, February 20 through March 20, The House of Hope Presbyterian Church will offer a Vespers service at 5:30 p.m. in the Elizabeth Chapel. The service will include a time for prayer, reflection, and healing. There will be opportunity for individual prayer requests; and, for those who choose, the laying on of hands and the anointing with oil for healing and wholeness. Following the Vespers service, dinner is available in the Kirk Parlour at 6:00 p.m. Reservations are preferred, and may be made by calling the church office at 651-227-6311 by noon on the Monday preceding. The cost is $7.00 for adults, $3.00 for children 11 and under, with an $18.00 family maximum. Childcare is also available by reservation only. The Adult Education series, "How Is God Known?" begins after dinner at 7:00 p.m. Presenters include Lucy Forster-Smith, Chaplain at Macalester College in St. Paul, Paul Capetz, Associate Professor of Historical Theology at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, and Anna Case Winters, Associate Professor of Theology at McCormick Seminary in Chicago. The public is welcome at worship, dinner and the education program. The House of Hope Presbyterian Church is located at 797 Summit Avenue at Avon Street in St. Paul. Parking is available in the lot immediately north of the church on Portland Avenue, or in a lot on the south side of Summit Avenue across from the church. The Elizabeth Chapel and the Kirk Parlour are accessible from the entrances on the north side of the church on Portland Avenue.
