THE HOUSE OF HOPE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

TO WELCOME PASTOR FROM EGYPT

Rev. Gendi Rizk to speak at adult education forum in February

St. Paul, MN. . . January 18, 2002. . . The House of Hope Presbyterian Church will welcome the Rev. Gendi Rizk, pastor of the El Saray Church, a Christian congregation in Alexandria, Egypt, on Sunday, February 3, 2002. Rev. Rizk will assist in worship at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m., and will speak about life in Egypt and the Middle East since the war on terrorism began, at the 10:00 education hour in the Elizabeth Chapel.

The El Saray congregation operates a school for the mentally handicapped, which serves approximately 185 students. They have developed five “career” paths for the students, including manufacturing assembly, sewing, wood working, rug weaving, and hydroponic vegetable gardening. Other areas of mission include a "drop-in" medical clinic for those who are not served by the standard medical facilities in Alexandria, as well as two "extended" churches in other areas of Alexandria.

The House of Hope Presbyterian Church is located at 797 Summit Avenue at Avon Street in St. Paul. Parking is available in the lot immediately north of the church on Portland Avenue, or in a lot on the south side of Summit Avenue across from the church. The Elizabeth Chapel is accessible and is located on the north side of the church. The public is invited to attend both worship and the education hour.
