"Praise the Lord; for the Lord is good: sing praises unto his name, for it is pleasant." (Psalm 135:3) Our choirs, our organs and our bells truly make a "joyful noise." There are many opportunities to join us in song or simply enjoy the music, either in services or at one of our concerts.

Several times a year, there are special music services. Some of these occur during the regular Sunday morning services and feature the Motet Choir, soloists from the choir, and an orchestra. Please refer to the 2007/2008 Music Calendar for the schedule of musical events

The Organs and the Carillon of the House of Hope

Noyes Memorial Carillon
The House of Hope was one of the first churches in North America to have a carillon when the bells were installed in the tower in 1923. House of Hope's carillon is a four-octave, fully chromatic instrument with 49 bells ranging in weight from 11 pounds to 5,280 pounds. It operates entirely by mechanical means; that is, each key is connected directly to a bell by means of wires and transmission bars, and the instrument is thereby under the player's complete expressive control.

Organs

The Fisk organ -- Sanctuary

The Ducroquet organ -- Assembly Room
The Jaeckel organ -- Elizabeth Chapel

The House of Hope Organs, a booklet first written in 1989 to mark the tenth anniversary of the dedication of the Fisk organ and revised in 2007, contains detailed information on each of these instruments.
