Weekly Centering Prayer at The House of Hope

Mondays, 11:00 a.m.

Kirk Parlour

Centering Prayer, in the words of one long-time practitioner, is a prayer of rest, a prayer of our resting in the arms of God much like a trusting child who is content in the arms of a loving parent.  It is perhaps helpful to note that the Greek Orthodox Church uses the term ‘hesychastic prayer’ for Centering Prayer – hesychia is a Greek word meaning ‘to be at rest.’ Beginners as well as long time practitioners are welcome; there will be an introduction to the practice at the beginning of each gathering.
