Choir School For children age 3 through High School seniors, the Choir School offers comprehensive musical instruction in a variety of unique and engaging environments. Sessions, classes, and rehearsals for children age 3 through eighth grade is on Wednesday afternoons starting at 4 p.m. High School choristers rehearse on Monday afternoons starting at 4:30 p.m. Sofia Ardalan (651) 223-7548

Education Children's Christian Education Classes for children age 3 through grade 6 are offered during the Enrichment hour, 10:10 - 11 a.m. Jan Snell (651) 223-7547

Pew Rack Volunteers Meets the 1st Monday of each month from 10 AM to 12 noon, to replenish informational materials in the pew racks. Church Office (651) 227-6311

Prayer Shawl Ministry Knit prayer shawls for others as symbols of comfort and healing during a crisis or life transition. Church Office (651) 227-6311
Outreach Capital City Grief Coalition Area churches participate in providing ongoing grief support groups for persons suffering the loss of a loved one through death. Thursdays, 5 - 6:30 p.m.; meeting location changes every thirteen weeks. Darlene Stensby (651) 227-6311

Central High School Tutoring Program Tutor at-risk students at St. Paul Central High School to assist with basic reading and math learning skills. Meets Tuesday mornings from 7:43 - 8:25 a.m. October to late May. Orientation and teacher support provided for volunteers. Church Office (651) 227-6311

Dayton Avenue Joint Projects This project joins the efforts of the congregations of the House of Hope and the Dayton Avenue Presbyterian Church. One project offers volunteers the opportunity to serve one Saturday morning every other month from nine until noon to work in the clothing center Dayton Avenue Church located at 217 Mackubin St. in St. Paul. Another project involves gathering school supplies before the start of the school year for children of a nearby school. Church Office (651) 227-6311

Family to Family Ties Befriend and mentor a family, usually a single parent with children, moving from poverty to stability in the St. Paul community. Being a mentor requires a year-long commitment. Training and support provided on an ongoing basis for mentors. We are also looking for individuals who can make other contributions such as moving families, finding furniture, orgaznizing events, and providing legal advice and other resources to our families. Habitat for Humanity Help alleviate the housing crisis by assisting low-income families construct or renovate their homes. Need men, women, and youth (if 14-15, with parent). Activities include: Saturday Work Crew on the second Saturday of each month October-April; weekday Work Crew on the third Thursday of each month; Summer Work Camp Crew for one to five days during a week in the summer; Food Crew to provide lunches for our work crews. Other Volunteer Activities such as: working in the Habitat office and warehouse; donating services, building materials, and lots; participating in special events; and serving on various Habitat committees. Loaves and Fishes Prepare and serve a hot evening meal to our neighbors in the Frogtown area of St. Paul. Third Monday of each month, 5-7 p.m. Church Office (651) 227-6311

Mission Sewing Knit, sew, sort and pack items for the needy. Meets at the church on the first and third Thursday of each month, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., September through June. Church Office (651) 227-6311

Project Home Extend hospitality and friendship as a host/hostess for one or more evenings (5:30-9:00 p.m.) or overnights (8:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.) when House of Hope hosts the St. Paul Council of Churches' overnight family homeless shelter in our Youth Room. Our commitment for the shelter is for 31 days during the month of October. Your time spent with these families can make a difference in their lives and in yours. Southwest Area Meals on Wheels Help deliver midday meals to those confined to their homes. Substitutes welcomed, as well. Church Office (651) 227-6311

Sponsor-a-Family Buy and wrap Christmas gifts for a needy family. Church Office (651) 227-6311

YWCA Family Nite Out Women in Transition) Gather at a location near House of Hope from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. for one evening each month. The women of the Y’s Transitional Housing program and their children join with House of Hope volunteers in a variety of activities emphasizing recreation, fellowship and fun. Fellowship

Keen Agers Enjoy fellowship, lunch, speakers, and outings to such places as the theatre, museums, and nature centers with the Senior Citizens of our church (aged 55 or better). Meets daytime on the second Wednesday of each month. Church Office (651) 227-6311

Kirk Club A fellowship group for couples and singles who are generally fifty or older. Meets for Sunday brunch after services or as announced. Church Office (651) 227-6311

Men's Breakfast Groups One breakfast group meets Tues. at 7 a.m. at the Copper Dome, 1333 Randolph in Saint Paul for conversation on spiritual and contemporary issues; another meets Thurs. at 7 a.m. at the St. Clair Broiler, St. Clair and Snelling, Saint Paul for reading and discussion of the lectionary Scripture passages for the following Sunday worship services. Women's Ministries Women's Breakfast Group discussion each Friday morning at 7:00 a.m. on a variety of books selected by the participants (contact Jan Dickinson, 651-647-1786, or Esther Kellogg, 651-699-6006).
