Many of the service opportunities within our church allow for occasional commitments, even on a once a year basis. Some projects make use of special talents and interests, while others require a commitment of time and dedication. Please consider volunteering! Check out the following activities and call the contact person listed to offer your services. Even a few hours a year of your time can make a world of difference to the success of a project.



Children's Christian Education: Birth – Grade 5 Volunteer on a nursery committee, as a member of a teaching team or as a leader in the art room, computer room, movie theater, with music or puppets and drama. Commitment ranges from every other Sunday to once in a while. Contact Jan Snell, 651-223-7547

Choir School: For children age 3 through High School seniors, the Choir School offers comprehensive musical instruction in a variety of unique and engaging environments. Sessions, classes, and rehearsals for children age 3 through eighth grade is on Wednesday afternoons starting at 4:00 p.m. High School choristers rehearse on Monday afternoons starting at 4:30 p.m. Contact: Sofia Ardalan, (651) 223-7548.

Cloister Gallery: A unique opportunity to view the work of local and regional artists. The shows change monthly. Once a year, church members can submit their own art for inclusion in the Member Art Show, which will run in May and June of 2001. The Cloister Gallery Committee welcomes volunteers to help hang art on the last Tuesday of each month from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. They also welcome suggestions of artists whose works could be considered for the monthly show. Communion Guild: Prepare elements for the communion service. Contact the church office, 651-227-6311. Clean-up Committee: Mary Jean Drever, 651-771-3687.

Family Fun: Participate in fun activities for families to enjoy together, including the Advent Celebration and other special events. Volunteers are invited to help plan and implement family activities and celebrations. Contact: Jan Snell, (651) 223-7547.

Funeral Ushering Committee: Usher at funeral/memorial services and/or serve light refreshments at receptions for families and friends following the services. Contact the church office, 651-227-6311.

Gardening Committee: Tend the gardens in the Garth and at the Manse. The group meets twice a month to weed, water and fertilize the plants. Extra volunteers would be very gratefully welcomed! Contact the church office, 651-227-6311.

Greeters: Extend warmth and hospitality to members, visitors, and friends as they arrive at Sunday worship, afternoon worship, or special events. Contact the church office, 651-227-6311.

Hard Hats: Men and women volunteers who assist with maintenance and upkeep in and around the church building. Contact the church office, 651-227-6311.

Intercessors Guild: Pray one day of each month to assist those in need. Contact the church office, 651-227-6311.

Library Committee: Order, catalogue, and maintain books for the church library. Committee normally meets at the church Tuesday at 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., but other arrangements can be made. Contact the church office, 651-227-6311.

Mission Sewing: Knit, sew, sort and pack items for the needy. Meets at the church on the first and third Thursday of each month, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., September through June. Contact the church office, 651-227-6311.

Motet Choir: This is the adult choir of House of Hope. Rehearsals 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evenings and 8:15 a.m. Sunday mornings. During the summer, Wednesday evening rehearsals are eliminated and those who wish to participate just for the summer are welcomed on Sunday mornings at the 9:15 a.m. rehearsal. New Member Sponsors: Generally church deacons, but occasionally additional sponsors are needed. Interested church members should volunteer to be called upon as needed, up to four times a year. The basic commitment is to attend the final new member gathering and act as an information resource for new members. Contact: The Church Office, 651-227-6311.

Receptions for Music at Four Series: Enjoy providing hospitality with a group of congenial volunteers for one or several receptions following MAF Sunday afternoon concerts. Set up before concert, serve, and clean up after concert, approximately from 3:00 - 6:30 p.m. Contact Larry Lee, Music Committee Chair, for information and to select a date on the concert calendar which would be convenient for you. Pew Rack Volunteers: Meets the 1st Monday of each month from 10 AM –12 noon, to replenish informational materials in the pew racks. Contact the church office, 651-227-6311.

Tableaux Service Workers: The House of Hope Christmas Eve Tableaux service is put on by youth and adult members of House of Hope. One of the key pieces of the service is the tableaux itself. Help is always appreciated for the set-up and take down of the set. Set-up usually occurs after second service on the Sunday before Christmas Eve and take down is immediately following the Tableaux service. Contact the Church Office, 651-227-6311.
